Declan looks around to see if there's anyone close and, realizing there's no impressionable children in their direct earshot, he tips his head down to whisper into her hair. Bloody hell, her shampoo smells amazing and considering it's just island standard, he suspects it's got more to do with it being Kate than any particular product.

"If you'd let me, I'd have those legs of yours wrapped 'round me while I fucked you right out in the water with the tide coming in. It's all I can do to keep from shoving you up against every available surface on this bloody rock."

Fuck that's hot. It hits every kink she has: more dominance than submission, strength, power, authority (protection, safety, loyalty, commitment). Kate squirms at the sudden flush of heat over her skin while she tugs his zipper down, nice and slow.

"Yeah? Tell me how you see it, boss," she purrs as the zipper hits bottom. "What kinds of work do you have for me?"

"Fuck. I...paperwork. And you make sure I take breaks, preferably with you, and handle all the scheduling."

God, it was hard to think when she's touching him and the sheer fact that she wants to play along with this madness has him turned on more than he's possibly ever been before.

"Hm, so I'm actually the boss." She's teasing, but there are ways that Will rules the roost. She's seen it. And Magnus has all but come out and said she's got a submissive streak. Not that it surprises Kate but, yeah.

"Hope you don't think your breaks involve tea, boss." Her hand slides inside his jeans to palm him through his shorts. "Caffeine's bad no good for getting you to relax. Under the desk blow jobs. Over the desk quickies. Hallway hand jobs. Is that what you're thinking?"

"Oh...yeah, yeah that's what I need, Katie," Declan moans. He bites his lip to keep from being too loud; they're off from the crowd but if he's too loud, someone will hear them.

Smug, Kate works her hand inside his shorts and curls her fingers around him. He's so hard and hot, it's the best kind of torture to know she can't have him. Not here. And not unless she promises. She could, but she knows when she wants to do it now. When he needs her to.

The first long stroke makes her whimper a little. "You're the boss. If you say I need to be on my back on the conference table or leaning over it, then I do. Guessing Will's wardrobe isn't what you want me wearing, though, is it?"

"Skirts," Declan murmurs. "Leathers, when we have retrievals, but skirts otherwise."

He rocks his hips up into her hand. "It's just fantasy but I want to see you soft and pretty occasionally."

"Seriously, skirts? They're so not practical for 2am feedings, boss," Kate protests, playing the role because she can and pumping her fist way too slow to give him what he really needs. "I'll give you skirts if they can be leather, denim and suede. No floral crap and nothing below the knee."

But she does lean in over her hand and curl her other around the back of his neck. "But I'll let you choose. Mmm, twice a month you can pick out something softer. What would you want?"

"I want you in skirts, I don't want you Magnus," Declan murmurs, moaning a little. "But...maybe something black or dark blue...Katie, I don't know, something you like."

He can't think when she's teasing him like this.

"Maybe." She licks her bottom lip and bites it, blinking slow at the feel of him in her hand. "Maybe I'll...surprise you."

With a little black dress. With a trenchcoat and red heels. With a really pretty sarong and sandals. She bets he'd be into that.

"Tomorrow. Today you have a meeting in--" She pauses her strokes to pretend to check a watch. "Five minutes."

Declan's eyes drift shut. "Better...better suck me off then and finish it, yeah? So we're not late?"

It's pushing, a bit, and he doesn't know if it crosses a line she doesn't want to cross yet. But God he wants her.

Quick glance around tells Kate what she already knows. There are way too many people running around this beach for her to suck him off without getting caught.

"If we were in your office, boss, I'd be on my knees already. Let you use my mouth however you want or do the work for you," she croons at him, giving him the picture if not the reality. "Want to take a walk or want it now?"

Declan nods, taking a moment to cup her cheek and steal a bit of sweetness before they go back to the fantasy.

"Yeah, let's take a walk. Is there time for that in the schedule?"

Kate tips forward and kisses him lightly while she tucks him back in. "You're the boss. There's time for whatever you want, babe."

When she zips him up, Kate twines her arms around his neck. "I've got nowhere else to be tonight. All yours."

"I want to go to your place," Declan murmurs against her ear, not wanting that to be common knowledge or construed as part of their game. That's just Declan, being honest.

"I guess we can push the rest of the meetings back if we run over?"

"It's closer," Kate agrees and then pushes up to her feet, still standing over him and bent over enough to keep her hands on his shoulders. She won't make him carry her the whole way, but she kind of wants him to pick her up.

Sue her. She loves that he can.

"Screw the meetings, Declan. You need a break. You've been working too hard. I'll clear the schedule and you're spending the rest of the day with me."

Declan arches a brow. "Someone's a bit bossy today," he murmurs but it's fond and he glances around to see how many people are around before scooping her up into his arms. It's not for anyone else to see, anyway, but if they do, so be it.

Kate wraps her arms around his neck again. She should hate this. She should really hate this. But it's hot for one thing. For another, she feels good in his arms.

"Don't feel bossy now," she murmurs, low, and wraps herself around him. If she didn't think he'd need the present, she'd promise right now. She's crazy about him and there's not going to be anyone else.

"Don't feel bossy to me either," Declan teases, carrying her back to her hut. It's a long walk for that, yeah, but she's slight and he's carried much worse much further. He sets her gently on her feet right outside the door.

After the first three times she tries to get down and he won't put her down, Kate gives up and rests her head on his shoulder. It's ridiculous and a long damned walk, but she'll give him a rubdown in the morning.

When he sets her on her feet, she shakes her head at him. "And you're an idiot." Sighing in mock disappointment, she hooks her fingers in his waistband and hauls him into the hut after her. "You still want me on my knees or you wanna take what's yours?" Me.

"Mine?" Declan echoes, shocked. He's not sure what she means or if it's a promise and he touches her face tenderly. "Are you promising that it's only going to be me, Katie?"

It's so soft and unsure and unlike him but the idea of her being his really appeals in a way he's never felt before. She makes him so damned possessive.

Head ducking, Kate shrugs and tips her cheek into his hand. It's stupid that that one little touch makes her heart beat so hard it's knocking her off her feet. "Was going to wait for your birthday, babe. But yeah. I guess I am."

It's not just because she wants him so much she's shaking. She's been thinking about it the whole way here in his arms. "Tired of fighting what we both want."

Declan catches her mouth in the most tender kiss he's ever given, one hand cupping her cheek and sliding up into her hair. When he breaks it, his voice is low and rough with emotion.

"I love you, Kate. If it's all right with you, I'd like to take what's mine now."

Idiot, she wants to tell him. Stupid, for loving her. She lifts her hand to press her fingers over his mouth and they're shaking, but Kate can't make herself tell him 'don't'.

"Please," she says instead and her chest aches. "No more rules. I suck at rules. I kept them for you. But I suck at rules, Declan. I just want to be with you."

"No more rules," Declan promises, kissing her fingers lightly before finding her hand with his to squeeze it. He leads her over to the bed, still a little overwhelmed that she made the promise to him.

"Just us, together. That's all I want with you, Kate."

He looks more pistol-whipped than happy, except that he's got that tone and he's kissing her fingers like she's a princess instead of a retrieval artist. Thief. Con. Hired gun.

Oh, holy fuck, what is she thinking? She can't do this. Her pulse is racing so fast she can't hear past it. Except how her panic makes her hear him thinking forevers and weddings and babies and she's remembering her exits.

She exhales once, then again longer. "Don't make more out of it than it is, Declan. It's not a promise to be good at this or to want to be a couple all the time or anything. It's just a promise I'm not doing this whatever it is, with anyone else."
